Okay, the last hint spoke about checking out the "D:\".
Those hints were obviously made by an IT guy with an outstanding sense of humour.
Anyway, checking out the "D:\" partition on Matze's computer yields the following result:

Notice something out of place? Yeah, me too. That "pagefile.sys" file looks way out of place.
Anyway, after checking the contents of all files, I found some hint inside README.fail. Who knew? It reads:
